Background
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is a Constitutional Commission established under Article 237 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. The Commission is mandated to manage human resource functions for teachers in public institutions across the country. Its responsibilities include recruitment, deployment, promotion, discipline, and professional development of teachers, as well as ensuring quality standards in the teaching profession.
Through its mandate, the Commission plays a vital role in strengthening Kenya’s education system by ensuring that the teaching workforce is effectively managed and supported. The Commission works to enhance professionalism within the education sector while promoting accountability, transparency, and equitable access to quality education.
In line with its mandate to strengthen leadership, management, and professional oversight within the teaching service, the Teachers Service Commission invites applications from qualified, result-oriented, and highly motivated Kenyan citizens to fill several vacant positions across various directorates and functional areas of the Commission.

Role Context
The Senior Deputy Director – Internal Audit provides leadership in internal audit functions within the Commission to strengthen accountability, financial integrity, and operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Providing strategic leadership in the development and implementation of internal audit policies and procedures
- Overseeing internal audit planning and execution across Commission departments
- Evaluating the effectiveness of internal control systems and risk management frameworks
- Reviewing financial and operational processes to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
- Advising senior management on audit findings and recommended corrective actions
- Supervising internal audit staff and coordinating departmental audit activities
- Monitoring implementation of audit recommendations across the Commission
- Preparing internal audit reports for senior management and oversight bodies
