Background

Leads and manages the MSME Oil, Gas & Extractives sector portfolio. The Senior Manager provides sector-specific strategic direction, drives revenue growth, manages risk, and ensures delivery of customer solutions aligned to the broader MSME ecosystem strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defines & executes the MSME strategy in the Oil ,Gas and Extractives sector in alignment with the Retail Division and overall MSME ecosystem agenda.
  • Drives growth by analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities, and ensuring strategic alignment across internal stakeholders and delivery channels.
  • Oversees and develops the Oil, Gas & Extractives MSME team, ensuring appropriate resourcing, capability building, and high performance in delivering sector objectives.
  • Collaborates with product, digital, and marketing teams to design and refine competitive sector-specific financial solutions that meet evolving customer needs.
  • Ensures strong risk management and compliance with all regulatory, prudential, and operational standards Oil, Gas & Extractives
  • Monitors financial performance, customer satisfaction, and market share to ensure sustainable growth and continuous improvement within the
  • Enterprise-wide Risk Management; -Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Credit policy prudential guidelines, combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures to mitigate against losses, frauds, forgeries, and regulatory penalties’ relevant to the Oil, Gas & Extractives MSME portfolio.
  • Monitor sector financial performance, identify variances, and drive corrective action where necessary.
  • Ensure timely reporting on sector performance, highlighting key trends and insights.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
  • Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) will be an added advantage
  • Professional qualifications will be an added advantage

Experience Needed:

  • 7 years' minimum experience is required
  • 5 years Strong selling skills and experience in MSME/Retail banking (Required)
  • 5 years Credit Skills (Required)
  • 5 years Strong Customer & Stakeholder Management (Essential)
  • 2 years Banking Operations (Desired)
  • 3 years Business research and product development (Added Advantage)
  • 2 years Project management (Added Advantage)
