Background

The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) is a not-for-profit research and development organization with presence in more than 100 countries. CIMMYT is the global leader in research and development of maize and wheat.

Responsibilities

The Senior Marketing Intelligence Specialist will be responsible for:

• Conducting market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the maize and wheat sectors.
• Developing and implementing market intelligence strategies to support CIMMYT's research and development programs.
• Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from various sources, including market reports, surveys, and stakeholder consultations.
• Preparing and presenting market intelligence reports and recommendations to senior management and program teams.
• Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including industry players, government agencies, and research institutions.
• Contributing to the development of CIMMYT's communication and advocacy strategies.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Master's degree in Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in market research, market intelligence, or a related field, preferably in the agriculture sector.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in data analysis software.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of other languages is an asset.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
