Role Purpose:

Talent Grid Africa on behalf of their client in the shipping industry is hiring a Senior Sales Execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer potential and conduct Market Responsible (MR) Sales Planning.
  • Continuously improve the customer portfolio by acquiring new accounts and managing under performing accounts.
  • Serve as a specialist for designated market segments or verticals where applicable.
  • Review customer performance with the Sales Manager and define strategic action plans.
  • Prepare, conduct, and follow up on customer visits.
  • Conclude contracts for MR customers (proposal preparation, negotiation, and closing).
  • Record and track commercial commitments, including tenders.
  • Drive CU (Cross-Unit) business for foreign MRs in adherence to the Push-Pull process.
  • Ensure seamless handover of customer requirements to Customer Service.
  • Selectively engage in Trade Management discussions (e.g., tender guidance, commodity rates, special market conditions).
  • Provide structured feedback on market rates, competitor activities, and trade developments.
  • Communicate pricing requirements clearly to Sales Coordination for alignment with TM.
  • Ensure regular and accurate updates of all activities in Salesforce and relevant systems.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate pricing policies and commercial guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation and reporting standards.
  • Uphold company values in all customer and stakeholder interactions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Apprenticeship in Shipping or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the maritime industry or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in Sales and/or Customer Service functions within shipping or logistics.
  • Advanced negotiation, presentation, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of systems such as FIS, CRM, COMPASS, and MS Office.
