Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Ship Store Cashier to support a unique US Navy program based on the island of Diego Garcia.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with purchases, inquiries, and general store needs.
  • Operate cash registers or point-of-sale systems to process customer transactions accurately.
  • Assist in receiving stock and ensuring all items are properly priced and displayed in accordance with store policies.
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and well-stocked store shelves by restocking merchandise as needed.
  • Perform daily cash handling duties, including balancing cash drawers and preparing end-of-shift sales reports.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies or low-stock conditions to the store manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all Navy Exchange or applicable retail standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Foster a pleasant shopping experience for both service members and authorized personnel by maintaining professionalism, cleanliness, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with teammates to ensure smooth store operations, including assisting with special promotions and sales events.
  • Resolve basic customer concerns or escalate issues to store management as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1–3 years of cashier or customer service experience in a retail or comparable environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Passport should be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce is preferred.
  • Valid country driver's license and passport.
  • Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
  • Previous experience working in a military exchange, store, or commissary environment.
  • Ability to operate or quickly learn point-of-sale (POS) systems and other store-related software tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on accuracy when completing cash transactions or restocking items.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing outstanding customer service.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
