- Teach the application of statistical techniques specifically tailored for epidemiological research including logistic regression, Poisson regression, and survival analysis.
- Supervise students in the statistical analysis of epidemiological data using specialized software such as STATA, SPSS, and R.
- Conduct research on statistical approaches to handling confounding, effect modification, and missing data in epidemiological studies.
- Train students in sample size calculations and statistical power considerations for epidemiological investigations.
- Develop teaching materials on the use of epidemiological data for public health decision-making.
- Guide students in the preparation of statistical sections for research proposals and manuscripts.
- Collaborate with epidemiologists on the analysis of population-based health surveys and surveillance data.
- Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking examinations.
REQUIREMENTS: PARTTIME LECTURER
- i. Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution; and possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
- ii. Applicants must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.
- iii. Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research;
- iv. At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.
- v. Master's holders registered for PhD may be considered
- vi. Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
The successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration package in accordance with the existing Terms and Conditions of Service.
