Job Summary:

Our client, a leading retail company, is seeking an experienced Team Lead – Florist to oversee the floral department in-store. The ideal candidate will combine creativity, leadership, and retail operations skills to ensure exceptional customer experiences, a motivated team, and smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate the florist team to ensure high performance and a positive work environment.
  • Plan and assign daily tasks to team members, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of all duties.
  • Design, create, and maintain visually appealing floral arrangements for store displays, events, and customer orders.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior florists, promoting skill development and consistent quality.
  • Manage inventory of flowers, plants, vases, and related materials, ensuring availability and minimizing waste.
  • Place orders for floral supplies in coordination with store management, maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Ensure proper care and handling of flowers to maximize shelf life and freshness.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized floral department in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Assist customers with floral selections, provide recommendations, and handle special requests professionally.
  • Collaborate with store management to plan seasonal displays, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor sales performance, track key metrics, and implement strategies to improve productivity and revenue.
  • Resolve customer complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for the florist team, providing feedback and coaching for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest floral trends, retail merchandising techniques, and competitor offerings.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, creativity, and continuous improvement within the floral department.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Floristry, Horticulture, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in floristry, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong creative skills with an eye for detail and retail presentation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Knowledge of flower care, inventory management, and merchandising principles.
