Responsibilities or duties

This role involves leading technical aspects of PPG operations, focusing on natural ecosystems restoration and integrated landscape management. It also includes contributing to the establishment of new terrestrial protected areas. Specific duties will be detailed in the full Terms of Reference.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

A strong background in environmental science, conservation, or a related field is expected. Proven experience in project management, technical leadership, and working with international environmental initiatives is required. Significant experience in leading technical projects related to ecosystem restoration, landscape management, and protected area establishment is necessary. Experience with GEF-funded projects is highly desirable.

This is a consultant position based in Nairobi. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to significant environmental initiatives in Africa.

  • Lead technical aspects of PPG operations.
  • Oversee natural ecosystems restoration and integrated landscape management initiatives.
  • Contribute to the establishment of new terrestrial protected areas.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of project activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress and outcomes.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and local communities.
