The Public Service Commission is a constitutional commission mandated to establish and abolish offices in the public service, appoint persons to hold or act in public offices, promote values and principles of public service, and ensure efficient, effective, ethical, and citizen-centred service delivery across government institutions. The latest recruitment targets several institutions including public universities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Department for Correctional Services, the National Treasury and Economic Planning, and other government agencies.

The Vice Chancellor serves as the chief executive officer of the university and is responsible for providing overall strategic leadership, academic direction, and administrative oversight. The office ensures effective implementation of the university’s vision, mission, strategic plans, and policies while promoting excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and community engagement.

Responsibilities or duties

The successful candidate will oversee academic programmes, financial management, institutional development, human resource management, stakeholder engagement, and governance processes. The position also represents the university in national and international forums while ensuring compliance with higher education regulations and promoting continuous institutional growth.
