OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:
The Volunteer Liaison for CorpsAfrica/Kenya performs a variety of highly responsible and confidential duties. This field-based position manages a select number of Volunteers, supporting them through their CorpsAfrica service - emotionally, professionally and through their activities and projects. They work collaboratively with communities, partners and other stakeholders to support the Volunteers succeed in their service..
Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent facilitation and support to Volunteers in the communities..
- Serve as a coach for assigned Volunteers to excel in their service.
- Ensure Volunteer targets are fully attained.
- Maintain Volunteer records and reports.
- Create monthly, quarterly and annual reports on Volunteer activities and training.
- Cultivate and maintain cordial relationships with local Public Benefit Organizations, government officials, academia, banks and other relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in program resource mobilization
- Responsible for Volunteer Petty Cash accountability
- Assist with events, training, M & E and any other opportunities as they arise
- Any other responsibilities assigned by the Country Director and/or Deputy Country Director.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree with at least three years of professional experience two of which should be in community development, youth programming or livelihoods.
- Demonstrated passion and commitment to youth leadership, participatory community development and impact evaluation
- Detail-oriented, results-oriented and organized
- Good at partnership development and resource mobilization
- Excellent speaking, writing, presentation, and computer skills
- Exhibit high integrity, accountability, and discretion in their work.
