The International Humanity Foundation (IHF) is a global non-profit organization dedicated to educating and empowering disadvantaged children and communities worldwide. With volunteers working across five continents, IHF promotes ethical leadership, cross-cultural collaboration, and sustainable development.

We are currently seeking diligent and professional volunteers to join our References Team.

Role Overview

The References Team is the "Trust & Safety" unit of IHF. Your primary responsibility is to verify the backgrounds of international applicants by contacting their professional and personal references. You ensure that every individual joining our global centers meets our high standards of character and safety.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Outreach: Contact professional, academic, and personal references via email or phone.
  • Verification: Ask standardized, insightful questions to confirm an applicant’s history, skills, and character.
  • Report Writing: Document feedback clearly and objectively for the HR Executive and Interview teams.
  • Confidentiality: Handle sensitive personal data with the highest level of privacy and ethics.
  • Integrity Checks: Identify any red flags or inconsistencies in an applicant’s background before they are cleared for onboarding.

Qualifications or requirements

  • High level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Persistent and organized (following up until references respond).
  • Committed to IHF's child protection and safety standards.

Experience needed

No Experience/Less than 1 year

  • Experience in HR, Law, Security, or Administration is an asset.
