JOB ADVERT: WAREHOUSE COORDINATOR.

Location: Nairobi

Skill-Gap Solutions is looking to recruit for our client in the clearing and forwarding industry a proactive and hands-on Warehouse Coordinator to establish and manage an efficient, well-structured warehouse function. This is a newly created role, and the successful candidate will be responsible for designing processes, implementing systems, and instilling operational discipline within the warehouse.

The role is best suited for an individual who thrives in a setup environment and is capable of bringing structure, accountability, and visibility to warehouse operations while supporting overall business efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Setup & Systems Development

  • Design and implement warehouse processes including receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch
  • Establish inventory control systems, stock tracking tools, and reporting structures
  • Define standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse activities
  • Set up proper storage layouts for efficiency, safety, and accessibility

Inventory Management & Control

  • Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records
  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations
  • Investigate and resolve stock variances
  • Implement controls to minimize losses, damages, and pilferage

Operations Coordination

  • Oversee receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods
  • Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
  • Coordinate closely with clients and logistics teams
  • Monitor stock levels and support demand planning

Reporting & Performance Tracking

  • Develop and maintain warehouse performance reports
  • Track key metrics such as stock accuracy, order turnaround time, and losses
  • Provide regular operational updates to management

Compliance & Organization

  • Ensure the warehouse meets safety, cleanliness, and operational standards
  • Enforce proper handling and storage procedures
  • Drive discipline and accountability within the warehouse

Key Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
  • 3–5 years’ experience in warehouse operations, with exposure to setting up or improving systems
  • Knowledge in warehouse lay out plan for maximum space utilization
  • Costings and pricing
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles
  • Experience with ERP or inventory management systems is a strong advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to create structure and implement processes
  • High level of integrity, ownership, and accountability
  • Systems thinking and process development
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Strong coordination and communication skills.
