JOB DETAILS:

Background

This is a part-time lecturer position at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology.

Responsibilities

Teach the principles of web development including front-end and back-end technologies, web frameworks, and responsive design. Supervise students in the design and development of dynamic, database-driven websites and web applications. Conduct research on web standards, accessibility, user experience, and web security. Train students in client-side scripting, server-side programming, and API integration. Develop teaching materials on content management systems, e-commerce platforms, and web hosting services. Guide students in the implementation and testing of web solutions for diverse user needs. Collaborate with industry partners on live web development projects and innovation challenges. Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking examinations.

Qualifications and Requirements

i. Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution; and possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.

ii. Applicants must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.

iii. Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research;

iv. At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.

v. Master's holders registered for PhD may be considered

vi. Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.

Terms and Conditions of Service

The successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration package in accordance with the existing Terms and Conditions of Service.
