Background

Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services supporting the U.S. government, allied partners, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Work Control Center Clerk to support a unique U.S. Navy program located on the remote island of Diego Garcia.

Responsibilities

The Work Control Center Clerk provides administrative and clerical support for facilities maintenance and work control operations in accordance with Navy work management and customer service standards. Responsibilities include receiving, logging, tracking, and routing service requests and work orders through the Work Control Center.

The clerk serves as a primary point of contact for customers submitting maintenance requests, ensuring accurate documentation of work requirements, priorities, and locations. This role includes updating work management systems, coordinating with supervisors and maintenance personnel, and monitoring work order status to support timely completion.

Additional duties include maintaining work control records, filing documentation, preparing reports, supporting scheduling activities, and assisting with inspections or audits as required. The Work Control Center Clerk ensures accurate information flow and supports mission‑critical facilities operations in a remote, mission‑driven environment.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in clerical, administrative, or customer service support, preferably in facilities or maintenance operations
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of office procedures, recordkeeping, and customer service practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and/or computerized work management systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Must be in possession of a valid Passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Passport should be valid for a minimum of 1 plus years at the time of hiring.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
  • Valid country driver's license
  • Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).

Other Responsibilities

As appropriate, each employee is responsible for completing all training requirements and fulfilling all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks, and serving on safety committees and teams.
