Overall Job Purpose
The Branch Business Consultant - Personal Banking will be responsible for selling Liabilities and Assets in order to grow the Branch Business.

Principle Accountabilities
• Cross selling of HFC Bank's Personal Banking products by establishing new relationships in order to grow both assets and liabilities book.
• Maintaining customer relation by regular contact to ensure customer satisfaction business continuity
• To review accounting opening forms and loan applications by scrutinizing the documents to ensure they are KYC Compliant.
• To check data entry by verifying the data captured against source documents to ensure accuracy in data capture.
• To analyze mortgage loan applications by interviewing the customers.
• To identify customers borrowing needs by interviewing so as to ensure selling of the right mortgage product.
• To safeguard bank assets by being a dual custodian to minimize frauds and losse

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
• A Business related degree from a reputable institution
• Atleast 3 years in the Banking Industry
• Strong appreciation of banking Products.

About the Consultancy
• This consultancy is intended to support Sightsavers to design a market-shaping social enterprise model that that can address the significant unmet eyecare needs highlighted above. The proposed scalable health innovation (market shaping solution) is expected to be tested in rural and/or semi urban setups with an ambitious goal to accelerate access and reach more women, girls, children and persons with disabilities. The objectives of this consultancy are:
• Based on a legal and regulatory review, identify any barriers and gaps that needs to be addressed to develop a sustainable social enterprise model in Kenya.
• Based on the situational analysis and assessment, develop a design proposal with business plan to inform the implementation of a three to five-year project for Sightsavers.

Responsibilities
• To develop an inception plan for this assignment and finalise the work plan in consultation with Sightsavers

According to the inception plan, carry out the assignment, including the following activities:
• a legal and regulatory analysis detailing any barriers and gaps that needed to be addressed and identify the possible options for the social enterprise model.
• Engage with Sightsavers’ teams, partners and other stakeholders to identify their recommendations for improving accessibility, affordability, acceptability, and quality of eye health and refractive errors services.
• Engage and get further information from private sector (low to mid-end opticians, pharmacies, market vendors, drug stores) to ascertain 1) price points; and 2) barriers to selling more affordable spectacles and providing screenings/testing and accessing quality product.
• Generate a report that outlines 2-3 options for the model to be piloted. The business plan should include a financial model (with a baseline potential as well as a stretched financial potential).

Deliverables
• Inception report outlining the legal and regulatory analysis with a summary of situational analysis including an executive summary, findings, and recommendations for addressing gaps and key potential private sector partners.
• Final report that outlines 2-3 options for the social enterprise model informed by a theory of change/intervention logic, and business plan. The business plan should include a financial model.
• PowerPoint presentation on design proposal for consultation with Sightsavers and partners.

Expected Skills of the Consultant
• Master’s degree, BA, or equivalent in business development, social sciences, international development, or other related degree.
• Fluency in English language, written and spoken
• Proven knowledge of the social and political context of Kenya
• Extensive experience in business development, social enterprise development and/or private sector engagement, including in service provision and evaluations.
• Strong analytical and communications skills, including the ability to interact with partners on various levels

Skills and qualifications of consultant(s)
• In case the evaluation team consists of more than 1 person with different professional qualifications, a leader of the team shall be appointed. The consultants should have:
• Experience in the participatory review and evaluation of multi-country and of capacity development programmes as well as in gender mainstreaming,
• Expertise in CSO engagement in Policy Dialogue and/or Advocacy,
• Proficiency in English and strong analytical and writing skills,
• In-depth knowledge on and working experience in East Africa.

Deliverables
• Besides appointments, meetings and interviews for the data collection according to the methodological approach of the consultants, the plan of activities shall include a (virtual) meeting with the Project Coordinator to discuss the inception report and kick off the data collection process, as well as a (virtual) meeting with the Project Coordinator and, if possible, all members of the Steering Committee after completing the data collection to discuss provisional results.
• The inception report shall have a maximum of 10 pages and include a detailed outline of the assessment’s aims, approaches, methods, work plan, guiding questions, surveys etc..
• The consultant(s) shall present a draft report at the latest two weeks after the presentation of provisional results and discuss the main findings and recommendations during a planned Sharing & Learning Event with all East African partners in November 2022. The draft report will be assessed by HORIZONT3000 as to its comprehensibility and comprehensiveness and the consultants are expected to integrate feedback in the final report.
• The final report shall have a maximum of 25 pages (without annexes and index) and include: title page, table of content, list of abbreviations, executive summary (max. 5 pages), background, introduction, methods, findings, conclusions, lessons learnt, recommendations and Annexes (Logframe, terms of reference and schedule of the evaluation, list of key informants, list of documents used, questionnaires or other instruments used; Reports prepared for the field study; Information regarding the evaluators, and other document the consultant(s) consider relevant).
• Additionally, a visually appealing summary shall be developed, representing the main findings and recommendations of the review at a glance.
