JOB DETAILS:
Interior Designer/CAD Technician

Our Client is an interior architecture and design firm based in Nairobi. They seek to hire an Interior Designer/CAD Technician. The individual will be mandated to manage design projects from start to finish i.e sketch design plans, determine costs for different projects, source materials and products for the designs, inspect construction to ensure alignment with design specifications etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage design projects from start to finish
• Interpret and translate client needs into space plans
• Implement the design phase of projects from concept to completion
• Conduct site surveys and define project requirements during briefing
• Consider materials and costs and prepare furnishing estimates
• Source for Sample or develop Mood boards and 3D renders
• Prepare and make client presentations, prepare detailed working drawings and plans
• Procure written quotes for design elements, furnishing and materials
• Conduct on-site design supervision and provide recommendations to help streamline projects
• Take, circulate and maintain project meeting minutes
• Identify new businesses and sell services to potential clients

Required Specifications:
• Demonstrable working experience in designing Interior spaces
• At least 5 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design(Construction) or Architecture
• Proficient in ArchiCAD / AutoCAD, Sketchup, 3DMax/Revit, Illustrator/Photoshop or other design programs
• Excellent portfolio of previous works
• Creative talent, imagination, and an eye for detail
• Possess great project management skills, communication and presentation skills

JOB DETAILS:
Responsibilities
• Oversee orders to ensure that they are delivered on time and in a professional manner
• Proactively check status of fill sites and the status of water available
• Train drivers and conductors
• Manage drivers to ensure that they are following Powwater protocol
• Coordinate with the driver teams to ensure deliveries are done in the shortest time possible whilst maintaining a great overall customer experience
• Establish and maintain good rapport with customers by using positive language and anticipating their needs
• Use customer insight to propose new ideas on how to improve Powwater and recommend new products/services or make suggestions for improvements by identifying relevant features and benefits
• Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times giving customers a remarkable experience worth talking about.

• Considerable knowledge of tools, methods, operations, and materials used in the utility maintenance department.
• Excellent organization and time management skills; experience working in high paced environment
• Considerable ability to climb ladders, and use tools and objects requiring manual dexterity.
• Willingness to work long hours
• Must be able to work in areas with exposure to various environmental conditions such as dust, dirt, noise, disagreeable odors, and humidity.

Required skills and competencies

• The ability to work with a team, follow instructions, and great understanding of fill sites and the water industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related area is desired but not required
• A well-versed communicator at all organizational levels, with strong oral and written skills; required fluency in English and Kiswahili

Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills): Academic Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in any of the following fields: Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Marine Engineering, Marine/Naval Architect or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• First level university degree in any of the following fields: Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Marine Engineering, Marine/Naval Architect or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution combined with the required work experience may be accepted in lieu of the Master’s degree.

Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies:
• Professional qualification/certification in the relevant field from a recognized institution.
• Undertaken Leadership/management course from a recognized institution.
• Previous relevant work experience required:
• Minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience, three (3) of which should be at Management level.
• Work experience in the process of shipbuilding, repair, refit and conversion to ensure that the final products
• conform to the original computed designs is desirable. International experience in similar role is an added advantage
