We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Irrigation & Water Resources Engineer to support the planning, design, development, and management of irrigation projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, practical field experience, and a solid understanding of donor-funded irrigation programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and implementation of irrigation systems and water management projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical evaluations for irrigation development.
  • Prepare and review engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Oversee construction, installation, and commissioning of irrigation infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with national engineering standards and donor project requirements.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and technical reports for stakeholders and donors.
  • Provide technical support to project teams, farmers, and community groups.
  • Monitor and evaluate irrigation project performance and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure proper water resource utilization, conservation, and sustainability measures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Water Resources Management, Irrigation Engineering, or Agricultural Water Management from a recognized university.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation & Development Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or Agronomy from a recognized university.
  • Registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) or Kenya Institute of Agricultural Engineers (KIAE).
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in irrigation planning, design, development, or management.
  • Proven experience working on donor-funded irrigation programs.
