  • The School Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and menus. Ensuring that meals are cooked to a high standard, paying attention to food safety, quality, and presentation.
  • The Cook plays a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of the kitchen, assisting with meal planning, and adhering to hygiene and safety regulations.

Job Description

  • Following standard recipes and portion control to maintain consistency.
  • Following health and safety regulations, including food handling and storage.
  • Maintaining proper sanitation of kitchen equipment and workstations.
  • Assisting in the daily setup and breakdown of the kitchen, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining kitchen equipment. 
  • Monitoring stock levels and informing the Head Cook of any shortages or necessary replenishments. 
  • Working collaboratively with other kitchen staffs to ensure that meals are prepared and served on time. 
  • Maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety, ensuring compliance with health regulations and school policies. 
  • Monitoring portions to ensure they align with the school's standards and dietary requirement.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma in Catering, food production or a related field. 
  • Valid health certificate
  • Above one year on the same position.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Proficiency in food preparation and cooking techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practice
