Description
The Site Operations & Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising daily boiler operations, maintenance activities, and site personnel to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient plant performance. The role ensures adherence to safety, regulatory, and operational standards while maintaining high equipment availability and effective stakeholder coordination.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
A. Site Coordination & Team Supervision
- Coordinate daily activities of boiler operators, maintenance technicians, and contractors.
- Allocate duties, monitor attendance, task execution, and enforce site discipline.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and provide on-the-job coaching to staff.
- Act as the primary site liaison between operations, maintenance teams, and head office.
B. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor site KPIs including boiler uptime, maintenance completion, safety performance, and fuel, water, and chemical consumption.
- Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly operational and maintenance reports.
- Analyze performance trends, identify deviations, and initiate corrective actions.
- Escalate operational risks, non-conformities, and critical issues promptly.
C. Boiler Operations & Compliance
- Coordinate and supervise daily boiler operations and monitoring activities.
- Ensure boilers operate within approved safety, operational, and design parameters.
- Coordinate statutory inspections, testing, certifications, and regulatory renewals.
- Maintain accurate boiler logs, water treatment records, and compliance documentation.
D. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
- Enforce safety procedures, Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, and Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) protocols.
- Conduct routine risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of fuels, chemicals, and hazardous materials.
E. Maintenance Planning & Execution
- Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Supervise breakdown response and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Ensure availability of critical spares, tools, and consumables.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical maintenance works with internal technicians and external contractors.
F. Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with head office engineering and operations teams on site performance and improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities, inspectors, and auditors to ensure compliance.
- Manage vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Support commissioning, plant modifications, system upgrades, and improvement projects.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering.
- Valid Boiler Operator Certificate in accordance with regulatory requirements is an added advantage.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in industrial operations or maintenance in a supervisory or management role.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong ability to coordinate mechanical and electrical maintenance activities.
- Proven leadership, communication, and reporting skills.
- Sound knowledge of industrial safety systems and compliance standards.
- High safety awareness with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
