Job Summary
BRAC is seeking a qualified and experienced Procurement Manager to oversee its procurement operations in Kenya. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and driving cost savings.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to support BRAC's programs and operations in Kenya.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, tendering, negotiation, and contract management.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring they meet BRAC's standards for quality, reliability, and ethical practices.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings and optimize value.
- Ensure compliance with BRAC's procurement policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare regular reports on procurement activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Provide guidance and support to program teams on procurement-related matters.
- Stay updated on market trends and best practices in procurement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree or professional qualification (e.g., CIPS) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the NGO sector.
- Proven experience in managing end-to-end procurement processes, including tendering and contract management.
- Strong understanding of procurement best practices and compliance requirements.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
