Background

The ICT Authority invites qualified recent university graduates to apply for the Presidential Digital Talent Program (PDTP) Cohort XI Intake. Through this transformative initiative, the Government is looking for young, talented Kenyans with a passion for ICT and Public Service to undergo a structured 12-month internship program in both the public and private sectors.

Internship Objective

The objective of the program is to develop and prepare young ICT graduates to take up employment opportunities that arise in the ICT sector as well as other sectors.

Participants will:

  • Gain valuable workplace experience.
  • Receive mentorship from industry professionals.
  • Enhance their technical and professional competencies.
  • Refine their career aspirations.
  • Build strong professional networks.

Internship Opportunities

The programme offers internship opportunities in the following areas:

  • Software Development & AI – 100 positions

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants MUST have graduated and attained First or Second-Class Honors – Upper Division (or the equivalent) from a recognized institution within the last two years (from January 2024).
  • Applicants awaiting graduation (up to December 2026) must provide a recommendation/reference letter from the university, signed and stamped, indicating that they will be awarded First-Class or Upper Second-Class Honors.
  • Applicants must be recent bachelor’s degree graduates in ICT or Engineering disciplines, including: IT/ICT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Telecommunication, Other closely related disciplines in ICT or Engineering.
  • Graduates must have thorough knowledge in their core areas of specialization, including: Network & Digital Infrastructure, Software Development & AI, Information Security, Data Analytics, Multimedia (Graphic Design) & Digital Marketing.
  • Applicants may be required to demonstrate technical competencies in their core areas of specialization prior to the interview.
  • Applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged between 21 and 29 years.
  • Applicants must be unemployed and must not have previously undertaken a Government of Kenya internship program.
  • Applicants should be willing and ready to be deployed to any Ministry, Department, Agency, Corporation, or County Government (MCDAs) within the 47 counties on a full-time basis from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Female applicants, persons with disabilities, and graduates from ASAL regions are encouraged to apply.
